Since early 2004, Wendy has been a strict vegetarian with an unwavering respect for all living beings. She is committed to making ethical choices through the food she eats, the clothes she wears, and the companies and organizations she supports.

Wendy currently works with PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) in Los Angeles as their Media Officer.

Buster the kitty and Tyson the beagle are her daily, loving reminders to lead a compassionate lifestyle. She hopes that willing and able people will consider adopting a friend of their own (and remember to never support breeders who irresponsibly contribute to the more than 4 million cats and dogs euthanized every year).

health education & child advocacy
For nearly 15 years, Wendy has worked in the health education and child advocacy fields.

In high school, she was trained as an HIV/AIDS educator, and continued her commitment through college and beyond. Wendy has since raised thousands of dollars through her annual AIDS Walk team benefitting AIDS Project Los Angeles.

As magazine editor and copywriter for Stand Up To Cancer (SU2c), she contributed her writing to the fight against cancer. Wendy was also fortunate to be a part of SU2C’s 2010 television event, simulcast on ABC, CBS, FOX and NBC, helping the organization raise nearly $100 million for groundbreaking cancer research.

Wendy’s experience as a teacher, academic manager, sports coach, mentor and arts enrichment program director illustrates her commitment to youth and child development.  Most recently, she served as content editor and program director for 1 On 1 Academic Tutors, an education company in Los Angeles. Wendy has a great deal of respect for young people and is inspired by them every day.
